do you think an average hair dresser [i.e. Fantastic Sams, Super Cuts] could do this type of hair? or would they just mess it up?

I personally think independant hairdressers are better, more experienced. Try asking your friends who they use as that is a good place to find a great hairdresser. If you go to Super cuts or Fantastic Sams or whatever watch them cut a few peoples hair first. If you don't like what you see then leave and try someplace else.

Never heard of the salons, but you could print the picture off and go into the salon and ask if they could do that.

Its a fairly simple cut.

And it never hurts to ask.

The reason why I've never heard of it, is because I'm in Australia.

and yes i think an average hair dresser would be able to do that.. if you're not comfortable with it go to a couple of different salons and ask them if they would be able to do it and then choose the one you feel most comfortable having do it

i think they'll do fine. just bring in the picture and tell them EXACTLY what you want.

depends on the hair dresser not the place. ask the person doing your hair whether or not they think they could do that hair cut or if they've ever done that hair cut before...if you think they're experienced enough then let them do it if not go somewhere else.

Seems like those places are probably good for basic haircuts. But, that cut seems to need a little more than the basics. Although, you may be able to find someone there with a little more experience, if so ask for them. Cute haircut though.

my experience at the chain-type hairdresses has been that you never know who you'll get. if you are not comfortable with someone, don't let them cut it. I would probably watch them do someone else's hair first...

That being said, I got my hair cut at franchise hairdressers for many years, and found that most everyone was very experienced and worked with me on the style I wanted. I would take the plunge and go for it! Pictures are very helpful to take. Trying to describe a hairstyle like that can be difficult. It's good to be on the same page!

I would definitely go to a pricier salon, just because they usually have more fashionable stylists, and are usually hired based on state board exams and cosmetology school grades. I would also print out the picture and take it to several stylists to see if they have ever given a cut like that. I would definitely find a stylists that has done the cut before. One of the best places that usually has some more funky stylists is Regis.
